NIGERIAN ARMY ARRESTS SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER IN EKITI

Less than twelve hours after arriving at Ekiti, state the Army special forces, deployed by the Chief of Army Staff to boost security in the state have arrested one of the six suspected kidnappers who were operating along Ikere Igbara Odo road.

The other five managed to escape and are being pursued by the Nigerian Army.

The Special Adviser to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Security Matters, retired Brigadier General Ebenezer Ogundana, confirmed the incident to the press in Ado Ekiti.

He said the special forces acted on an intelligence report and vowed that the state would not tolerate any criminal activity.

The suspect, who gave his name as Sanusi Dangani from Kano state, was found with various weapons and items, including a dane gun, a double barrel pistol, lighters, torches, bottles of alcoholic drinks, phones, a cutlass, and a knife.

He was paraded before newsmen at the Fajuyi Pavilion in Ado Ekiti.
