Nigeria Decides: Electorate bemoans INEC over failed BVAS

By Precious Oham

As Electorates gather at their various polls today for the general elections, different reactions have caught the attention of the public.

Just now, an electorate named Olajoke Babatola at St Michael Primary School, Block 1, water works, area II, Ajilosun, ward 4, Polling Unit 2, in Ado-Ekiti, has bemoaned INEC over the non-functionality of the Bimodal Voters’ Authentication System(BVAS).

The electorate stated that she has been on the queue since 6:00am, adding that she has been voting in the PU for 10 years.

While asking about her Electoral rights, she noted that she has voted with her heart even though the BVAS failed to accredit her.

According to her, “The BVAS failed to accredit me as a result of poor network.

“I have been here since 6:00am and nothing changed.

“They even told me that this is not my polling unit but it is hot place I have been voting for the past 10 years and I even saw my name on the list.

“It doesn’t matter if I vote or not, I have voted with my conscience and it doesn’t stop me.”
