The Nigeria Army has called for an increase resources to fortify the capability of security forces in protecting national assets.

The call was made recently by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, in a Graduation Lecture held at the Army War College Nigeria (AWCN), Abuja.

According to him, the government must invest in combat enablers to enhance troops’ capability in responding to threats. “Protection of critical national assets demands a well-equipped and responsive security apparatus,” he said.

As gathered from the X handle of the Force @HQNigerianArmy, the Army Chief emphasised the roles of citizens in protecting national wealth, saying that “The People are the first protectors of critical national assets.”
