Niger Airway Locked: Tough time for aviation heading Europe, Sen. Sani knocks ECOWAS decision

By Udesinanna Stephen

Following the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) enforcement of a no-flight zone over Niger Republic, former Senate Representative of Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani, has said the decision will cost aviation a tough time to fly to Europe.

Senator Shehu Knocked the policy recently while commenting via his Twitter handle @ShehuSani.

He said, “Imposing the no-fly ban over Niger Republic will come with a great cost to Nigerian Aviation sector.”

“If the military regimes in Africa closed down their Airspace, the coastal African countries would have to divert to Atlantic Ocean in order to fly to Europe.”
