NGO Doles Out Learning Materials Worth N3m to Schools in Ekiti

…solicits support from well-meaning individuals

A non-governmental organization, Divine Motivation for Positive Impact Initiative (DMPII), has donated learning materials worth N3 million to schools in Ekiti State.

Speaking with journalists in Ado-Ekiti, the Executive Director of the Initiative, Gbenga Emiloju, stated that the materials, including 8,000 exercise books, were distributed to nine public schools across Ekiti East and Gbonyin Local Government Areas.

Emiloju explained that the project, now in its 8th edition since its inception in 2016, aims to reach all public schools in the state’s 16 local government areas by 2027.

Sponsored by the Initiative’s Board of Trustees and public donation, the project has now covered eleven local governments, with plans to ensure that all students in public schools, regardless of their population, benefit from the initiative.

He thereby called on well-meaning individuals to support the Initiative’s efforts to help in providing quality education to public school students.

His words, “This programme is ongoing, and we are now in the 8th edition. We began in 2016 with a goal to cover all 16 local governments by 2027.

“The criteria for selecting beneficiary schools are those with less than 400 pupils in any given local government area.

“By the 7th edition, we had covered nine local governments, and this 8th edition is focused on Ekiti East and Gbonyin Local Government Areas.

“We have produced 8,000 copies of exercise books, which cost over N3 million. The vision is to eventually provide exercise books to all students in public schools across Ekiti, regardless of their population.

“This would not have been possible without the sacrifice and support of our board members and the general public. We are also appealing for more support from the public to help us reach even more students”.
