NEW YEAR EVE: FIRE RAZES SCHOOL IN EKITI

By Joseph Treasure

Barely few hours to the New Year, the St Barnabas CAC Nursery and Primary School, located opposite Fayose Market, Ado Ekiti was razed by fire.

One of the block of classrooms in the school which was a UBEC/SUBEB project was completely burnt down.

Witnesses confirmed that vital documents of the school were lost to the fire.

Though no concrete reason could be linked to the fire, witnesses and fire fighters at the scene suspected that the incident may have been caused by fire from India hemp dumped by some youths who have turned the school to smoking arena.

This is because, some chairs and traces of smoked hemp were seen on the floor behind the burnt building.

It was gathered that the school is not connected to national grid not close to anything that could cause fire.
