NBTE AGAIN ACCREDITS FIVE OTHER PROGRAMMES FOR FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, ADO-EKITI

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has given its nod to The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti for the commencement of another new programme in Fisheries Technology along with the accreditation of five other programmes.

The NBTE’s approvals, which followed the outcome of a recent Quality Control Visitation Exercise to six programmes in the Polytechnic’s School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT) was conveyed in three separate correspondents and signed by Arc. Ngbede Ogoh, the Board’s Director of Polytechnic Programmes.

In a letter addressed to the Rector, reference number TEB/PRO/FP.O/Vol.III/141, titled “Grant of Approval to Commence Programmes” The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti was mandated to commence admission to the HND Fisheries Technology programme with effect from the 2022/2023 Academic Session.

Another correspondence similarly addressed to the Institution’s Rector, which granted Interim Accreditation to HND Agricultural Extension and Management programme reads as follows: “With reference to the Quality Assurance Visitation carried out by the Board to your Institution from 23rd to 26th October, 2022, I am directed to inform you that the Board has granted Interim Accreditation for a period of one year to the Institution”

According to another letter with reference TEB/PRO/FP.O1/Vol.III/140, the four programmes, which received the NBTE’s Full Accreditation status are: ND Fisheries Technology; ND Horticultural Technology; HND Animal Production Technology and HND Crop Production Technology.

The four programmes granted full accreditation for five years will only be due for another quality assurance visitation of the NBTE by the end of September, 2027.

It will be recalled that in an earlier similar Quality Control Visitation exercise to The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, the NBTE had approved the commencement of seven new programmes along with the accreditation/reaccreditation of eleven other programmes.

Thus, the NBTE approval to mount the HND Fisheries Technology programme in the Polytechnic brings to eight the new programmes, which students are to be admitted with effect from the 2022/2023 Academic Session of the Institution.
