Naira was told to float instead it’s sinking – Sen. Sani Laments

By Udesinanna Stephen

Former Senate Representative of Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani, has expressed displeasure over the state of Nigeria’s currency, saying that the naira was expected to gain value rather it is diminishing.

Senator Shettima said this recently on his X handle @ShehuSani. $1 United State Dollar is equal to N780.11 naira, Forbes reported.

Senator Sani said, “Naira was told to float; instead, it’s sinking.”

In a separate post, he noted that much is expected from the new Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Olayemi Michael Cardoso.

He said, “Much expectation from the new CBN Governor Cardoso to rescue our National Currency, reset the Monetary Policy and depoliticise the institution. Avoid political rice farmers, fake pyramids, forex Sponges and Banking parasites.
