N21 trillion to meet National housing needs, says VP Shettima

The Vice President, VP Kashim Shettima has said, Nigeria suffers shortage of 28 million houses, and N21 trillion will be required to meet this housing demand.

The VP made this known recently at the groundbreaking for the construction of a 500-unit Housing Estate by the Sokoto State government.

As obtained from the VP’s X handle @officialSKSM, he said, “Nigeria has a deficit of 28 million houses and we will need N21 trillion to meet our housing needs.”

Commending the Sokoto state Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, the VP said, the state action to counter house shortage in the country worth emulating by other state government.

“This step taken by the Governor is highly commendable and worthy of emulation by other State governments.” Shettima noted.

He added that, “The Governor has started well by completing the roads and flyovers he inherited.”
