Grace Omachoko

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State, Ibrahim Huseini, has been suspended indefinitely over alleged mismanagement of funds and anti-party activities.

Huseini was accused for misappropriating N19 million from the Party’s account and engaging in anti-party activities during the November 2023 gubernatorial election.

In a letter dated January 21, 2024, officials of PDP in Dekina LGA expressed a vote of no confidence in Huseini, accusing him of disrespecting established party protocols and institutions.

The suspension, initiated on January 15, 2024, highlighted the chairman’s mismanagement of party funds, threats to executive members, and interference in anti-party activities during recent elections.

The Local Government Working Committee of PDP in Dekina instructed Huseini to surrender all party materials in his possession to the divisional secretary, emphasizing that his actions have impeded the party’s progress by violating the provisions of the party constitution.

The letter was signed by key party officials, including Secretary Ademu Yusuf, Assistant Secretary Attai Joseph, Legal Adviser Jacob Atadoga, Auditor John Bala Amedu, Financial Secretary Usman Enema, Treasurer Salisu Shehu, Youth Leader Ayuba Amedu, Ex-Official Danjuma Muhammed, Women Leader Alima Abuh, and Vice Chairman Salami Muhammed Omede.

The removal received endorsement from at least eight ward chairmen.
