By Ihie Grace

The former Aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has called on Nigerians to avoid judging individuals prematurely through social media.

He conveyed this message through his official X account @ renoomokri

This is coming amidst online criticism faced by popular singer and rapper Naira Marley regarding the death of Mohbad, who was under contract with Marley Music, a record label. owned by Naira Marley.

He said, “Naira Marley and his associates may be the monsters people are making them out to be. And it is also a possibility that some of those making these allegations are using this opportunity to revive their careers and or settle old scores with him.

“We do not know. That is why there is going to be an investigation. And pending the outcome of that investigation, let us resist the urge to convict people who may or may not be innocent in the court of social media. Let’s give the police and law enforcement agencies the benefit of the doubt. And then let us take punitive actions in law and society when we have certainty.”
