The Chairman, Ado Local Government, Ekiti State, Chief Bosun Osaloni has said that no church has the right to issue certificate to couples during marriage.
To this end, churches involved in the issuance of certificates have been warned to desist from such such or face the wrath of the law.
Osaloni spoke during the new year prayer held at the palace of the Ewi of Ado Ekiti.
According to him, only the council has the right to issue certificate which has the authorized seal recognize within and outside the country.
He said very soon, the council would begin to move round churches to take action against erring ones.
