Labour Party Legal Team Meets INEC to Inspect Election Materials

The 60 Lawyers Legal Team, hired by the Labour Party have met with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja, today.

The meeting which was conceived to enable the controversial Labour Party Presidential Candidate,Peter Obi,inspect materials provided by INEC during the February 25th Presidential Election, in line with the claims of results falsification,took place at the Commission’s National Headquarters, Abuja.

Moreso, in line with the inspection process, INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu assured the Legal Team as well as the party corporation, by providing necessary documents that would facilitate the prosecution process.

He said: “INEC has nothing to hide. Documents available at the HQ will be given immediately. We are meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners today and we will discuss how other documents at the state level could also be made available to you speedily.”
