Kidnappers Releases Deputy VC, Abia Varsity

Prof. Godwin Emezue, the kidnapped Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration of Abia State University is liberated after an 11-day captivity.

Recall, the VC was kidnapped for over two weeks ago in Umuahia, the state capital, according to the Abia State Police Command.

An anonymous source, who is an acquaintance to the family of the victim, noted that the kidnappers had previously asked for N35 million in ransom.

The insider also said, “The kidnappers had released footage showing how they tortured the professor and threatened to kill him if the family did not pay N20 million by the end of Saturday last week.”

According to the source, Emezue’s kidnappers had freed him on Tuesday night. Although he was tortured and is currently receiving medical care at a secret hospital.
