JNC wants better collaboration from National Council on Establishment

…urges CBN, FG to end cash crunch

The National Chairman of the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council JNPSNC (Trade Union side) Comrade Benjamin Anthony has called on authorities of the National Council on Establishment (NCE) to always carry the council along in it’s policies and programmes.

The council had expressed worry over the rejection of the various ideas and memoranda submitted to the organization saying if they have been adopted they would have impacted positively to the Nigerian Public Service.

This position was contained in the welcome address delivered at the opening session of the joint Council and Councils 1,11 and 111 meeting with the theme “Fostering partnership between government and Trade Union side for effective governance” holding at the Goshen City , Conference Hall, along keffi road, Nasarawa State.

The National leadership of joint Public Service Negotiating Council strongly advocated the expediency in the inclusion of Trade Union side representation into the National Council on Establishment (NCE)

The National Chairman expressed regret over the launch of urban Mass transit which was purposely meant to address the critical transportation problems being faced by workers at the Federal Capital city, although , Trade Union side was never carried along both at the formative and implementation stages, regretably, the buses are outrightly grounded, hence, the reason behind the workers’ urban transit policy has been defeated.

Comrade Benjamin Anthony reminded the delegates to the meeting of the importance attached to the theme of joint meeting, which is “fostering partnership with government and Trade Union for effective governance” but unfortunately, office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has not carried along Trade Union side in order to achieve desired goals of industrial harmony that will promote effectiveness, efficiency and optimal productivity in the service delivery, hence , the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation should improve on this.

The national Chairman of joint Public Service Negotiating Council JNPSNC commended the perseverance of workers in the past months due to cashless economic policy of the Federal Government which was very intriguing and painful.

” We find it extremely difficult to explain a policy that makes it impossible for someone to access own money from the bank, workers find it difficult to get money to their respective offices” he said.

He therefore challenged Federal Government “to urgently take rightful step to address the situation and improve on the internet transactions system in Nigeria to ease transfer of funds across the Cyber space and look at various bank charges on transfer and transactions”
