By Udesinanna Stephen

Former Nigeria Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki has called for a “thorough” investigation into the Nigeria Air Force bombing of citizens celebrating Maulud in Kaduna.

The Former Senate President made the call on his X handle @bukolasaraki.

According to him, the bombing of innocent civilians who were celebrating the Maulud Nabiy in Tundun Biri, Igabi LGA, Kaduna State, is “deeply” saddening.

Saraki said, “In the aftermath of this tragedy, we must take stock and ensure that such a devastating error never happens again. A thorough and transparent investigation must be undertaken to identify any lapses in operational procedures. We must also initiate measures to prevent future occurrences.

“As we move forward, we must see this as a time for national introspection, collective action and recommit ourselves to the principles of patriotism, justice and compassion, so that the safety and well-being of every Nigerian is guaranteed.

“My family and I extend our deepest sympathies to the government and people of Kaduna State — and all the families of the victims of this unfortunate incident. May Almighty Allah (SWT) heal the wounded and repose the soul of the departed.” He added.
