Industrial Court Reinstates FUOYE Don 6 years after Disengagement

An Industrial Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State, has ordered the immediate reinstatement of Dr. Niyi Akingbe, of the Department of English and Literary Studies that was sacked by the management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, FUOYE.
In a judgment delivered by Hon. Justice K. D. Damulak, the court directed the university to restore all the entitlements of Dr. Niyi Akingbe, including his promotion and financial benefits.

The industrial court also awarded Forty Million Naira (N40,000,000) as damages in favour of the claimant, which should be paid within 30 days.

Recall that Dr. Niyi Akingbe with Dr. Adeyemi were sacked by the management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti in 2018 for an alleged plagiarism.
