In a significant move to promote food security and economic growth, Major Isa Musa, Head of the Ekiti North Military Base, has visited Agbeyewa Farms, Nigeria’s largest cassava farm.
During the visit, Major Musa pledged full collaboration between the military and Agbeyewa Farms to ensure the security of the farm’s workers, assets, and properties.
He commended the farm’s management for their contributions to Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
“I’ve never seen anything like this before,” Major Musa exclaimed, impressed by the sheer scale of the cassava farm. “With a massive farm like this, food security in both Ekiti State and Nigeria in general is guaranteed and assured.” He added.
Agbeyewa Farms, which spans over 1,000 hectares, is a leading player in Nigeria’s agricultural sector. The farm’s focus on cassava cultivation is strategic, given the crop’s versatility and potential for value addition.
According to the farm’s management, plans are underway to expand the farm to 5,000 hectares by the end of 2025, further increasing the total cultivated area to 6,000 hectares.
