Grammy Awards 2025: Tems Clinches Best African Music performance

Nigerian Afrobeats Singer Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems has secured the position of the “Best African Music Performance” at the ongoing 67th Annual Grammy awards in Los Angeles, United States.

Tems’ hit single “Love Me JeJe” was nominated with Afrobeats stars Yemi Alade’s song “Tomorrow”, Asake and Wizkid’s hit “MMS”, Burna Boy’s “Higher”, Chris Brown’s “Sensational” featuring Davido and Lojay. However, “Love Me JeJe” made the top of the list in this category.

Tems got three nominations at this year’s Grammys, bringing her total to eight career nods. She was also recognised for Best Global Music Album with ‘Born in the Wild’ and Best R&B Song for ‘Burning’.

Tems win marks her second Grammy win and a historic achievement for Nigeria’s Music industry.

Following this achievement, Nigerian music star, Davido in a tweet, congratulated Tems for this feat.
