The GIGMOF School of Mentoring, a subsidiary of Divine Motivation for Positive Impact Initiative Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State has graduated 86 students from the 2022 Batch D and E after a 3-month intensive training.

At its graduation ceremony held in Ado-Ekiti over the weekend, the Head of Service in Ekiti State, Mr. Bamidele Agbede, represented by a permanent Secretary, Mr. Yinka Arogundade charged the graduands to deliver on the mandate of adding value and making positive impacts in the lives of people.

He commended the founder of the school, Dr. Gbenga Emiloju for the initiative, noting that it would further complement government efforts at building capacity of youths towards national growth and development.

Speaking after the event, the Founder and President of GIGMOF, Dr. Gbenga Emiloju, said the idea behind the school was borne out of his passion to mentor young ones which is a strategy to reshape the society.

Dr Emiloju added that the graduands contributed the sum of four hundred thousand naira for the production of writing materials which were distributed to schools as part of their Community Social Responsibility Project.

He called on government and stakeholders to partner the school and support it towards creating opportunities for more youths.

“Across we have 86 graduands from two batches. I was able to give five people grants of 100 thousand Naira each apart from rewards given to some of them for the special task they were able to carry out during the training.

“The idea was borne out of my passion to mentor young ones because I realise that majority of the youths in the society today are not leaving up to their expectations. The duration is 3 months online intensive training and we have 16 experts from their field of endeavours who are facilitators.

“I have been the one bearing the burden all alone with the little income am having. I believe that one of the ways government can be of help is to give us support. The general public and stakeholders can also commit by helping some of these individuals through little tokens to achieve their businesses.

“We encourage them to execute community development projects and they also did a community social responsibility in the rural areas like Ise-Orun and Emure LGAs. These are some of the ideas we trying to inculcate in these mentees.”

Some of the graduands expressed appreciation with the school for empowering them with the requisite knowledge to succeed in life.

According to Teniola Adeyemi: “We have learnt so much on how to make our lives progressive and not be stagnant. It has been a wonderful experience in shaping our destinies. With the help of this school we have been able to know what to do.”

“I am very happy seeing my day of graduation. This school has really impacted my live to be intentional in what we do. We must always impact lives positively.” said Ibidoja Jacob
