Fuel Subsidy: Garba Blames NNPC, Ministry of Finance, Others

By Udesinanna Stephen

Former Presidential Candidate and All Progressive Congress, APC Chieftain, Adamu Garba has said despite the spending on fuel subsidy
the Nigeria National Petroleum Company NNPC, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Petroleum cannot account for the quantity imported.

He said this today via his Twitter handle @adamugarba.

He said: “NNPC, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Petroleum cannot account for the actual quantity of PMS (Petroleum Motor Spirit) we import in Nigeria. How then do we even come to such an amount?

Although, recently, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, said “the daily consumption of AGO (Automotive Gas Oil) or diesel is 12 million litres a day.”

Garba argued that “The fraud in the subsidy regime is monumental, and that is why all Nigerians should rally behind the Tinubu administration to ensure the complete removal of this looting machine enterprise called subsidy.”
