Food Security: US certifies 12 Nigeria seed companies

As part of the effort to support food security in Nigeria, the United State has said it has transformed 12 seed companies in the Northeast into certified seed producers.

This was revealed in a statement published on the X handle of the US Mission to Nigeria @USinNigeria.

According to the statement, the aid was pioneered by the USAID to Nigeria.

The statement reads, “@USAIDNigeria & partners transformed 12 seed companies in Northeast into certified seed producers. Across 6 states, they grew 3,000+ metric tons of climate-resilient seeds, reaching 165,000+ farmers. Yields up by 39%, boosting household food security. Seeds of change!”
