FG promises improved support for FUOYE

…unveils modern lecture theatre, laboratory

The Federal Government on Friday reiterated its commitment towards improving the academic standards in tertiary institutions in the country just as it expressed happiness over academic progress in Federal University,Oye Ekiti.

President Muhammadu Buhari, represented by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Adeniyi Adebayo, said this during the inauguration of Tertiary Education Trust Fund projects at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The president said that TETFund through Federal Government’s support had performed exceptionally in infrastructures provision, support for academic staff training and development among others to tertiary institutions with a promise to do more.

He assured of continued support “to provide necessary support towards making our educational institutions globally competitive for economic and technological development of the country.

“I’m delighted to note that the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti has not been exempted from this intervention efforts of TETFund and you can be assured of better support from this government and the incoming administration.

“I use this opportunity to thank the executive Governor of Ekiti state, (Oyebaniji Abayomi), the Government and the good people of Ekiti state for providing an enabling environment that allows for the development of education.”

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina said the institution is advancing the community of learning by engaging in research and humanistic scholarship towards educational purposes that will benefit Nigerians.

The VC commended TETFund for its contributions and support to the institution saying “Let me at this juncture posit that the establishment of TETFund in Nigeria is like a watershed that calms the depressing nerves of education needs in Nigeria.”

Projects commissioned are the laboratory project of pharmacy block A of the 2021/2022 merge annual intervention, and 250 lecture theater capacity building Block B of the 2021/2022 merge annual intervention.
