Female Varsity Students Regain Freedom

The remaining students of the Federal University, Gusau, in Zamfara State, who were kidnapped last year, have regained their freedom.

ROUNDOFFNEWS recalled that on September 22, 2023, a group of bandits attacked the Sabon-Gida community in the Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara and abducted around 20 students, primarily female students from their hostels.

Despite relentless efforts by the university authorities and the families of the victims, only a few captives were released in the months following the incident.

However, Security forces successfully rescued the rest of the abducted students. The students were freed during an operation carried out in the Kuncin Kalgo area of Tsafe Local Government Area, and were subsequently handed over to government.
