Executive Secretary hails Gov. Oyebanji over approval of 200m recapitalisation fund

The Executive Secretary of Local Government Staff Loans Board, Rotimi Akomolede has appreciated the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for approving recapitalisation fund of ₦200,000,000 to the agency.

In a statement in Ado Ekiti, the Secretary affirmed that the scheme had usually been financed through a monthly subvention released from the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) but was stopped in 2013 hence he commended Gov. Oyebanji for the reintroduction of the policy.

While hailing the benevolence, generosity and empathy displayed by Governor Oyebanji for bringing back the fund, the Secretary said it will save the local government staff from untimely death and help cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

The statement read in part, “It is however a cheering bees that the entire Local Government Staff are absolutely lucky to have direct interventions to their plight through the recapitalisation fund of ₦200,000,000 approved by the Governor of Ekiti State to be paid in 10 installments.

“Joseph II of Australia aptly describes the person of the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) and what he stands for as benevolence.

“This huge amount will put to rest the existing balkanization being experienced in the name of 4 to 5 installmental release of the loans expected to beneficiaries thereby defeating the purpose by which the loans were granted.

“I am of the firm belief that most Local Government Staff may have been saved from untimely death owing to Bank Loans and LAPO with they would have possibly been forced to assess in the desperate bid of meeting some domestic needs of shelter and mobility.

“The magnanimity exhibited by Mr. Governor in the approval of this recapitalisation fund to Local Government Staff is a testament to your unwavering commitment to the welfare of Local Government Staff.

“This is expected to be reciprocated by the Staff in the area of dedication to their duties coupled with total and undiluted loyalty to the various policies and programmes of the BAO adminstration. I am convinced that the Local Government Staff will forever be indebted to this great leader.”He added.
