EKSU APPOINTS NEW DVCS

Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji has approved the appointment of two scholars as Deputy Vice Chancellors for the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti.

They are Professors Raphael Ayantunji Adeleke and Joseph Babatola Ayodele.

Professor Babatola Ayodele was named the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, while Professor Ayantunji Adeleke would assume duties as the Deputy Vice Chancellor Development.

The Senate of the university had during its 275th meeting held on 22nd December, 2022 recommended the two scholars for the positions.

Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele attended Annunciation School, Ikere-Ekiti from 1974 to 1979 and Ondo State College of Education, Ikere Ekiti between 1982 and 1985. He proceeded to the then Ondo State University Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti) for his Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Economics where he graduated with First Class (honours) and emerged as the overall best graduating student in 1992. He also obtained M.Ed and Ph.D degrees from the University of Ibadan in 1997 and 2000 respectively.

Professor Ayodele joined the services of Ondo State University Ado Ekiti (now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti) in 1995 as Graduate Assistant and rose through the ranks to become a Professor in 2012. He has held many administrative positions including Dean, Faculty of Education and Director, Directorate of General Studies, before his recent election.

Professor Ayodele belongs to many professional bodies as a Fellow or member. He has published numerous articles in reputable local and international Journals.

Professor Raphael Ayantunji Adeleke attended Eyemote Comprehensive High School, Iyin-Ekiti between 1975 and 1980. He obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) degree from the then Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti in 1986. He proceeded to the University of Ibadan where he earned M.Sc. in Statistics in 1991. He later obtained his Ph.D in Statistics from the then University of Ado Ekiti in 2007.

Professor Adeleke joined the services of the then Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti in 1987 as a Graduate Assistant and rose to become a Professor in 2012. He has served the university in various capacities such as Acting Head, Department of Mathematics, Head, Department of Statistics, Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UNAD Branch and Director, Directorate of General Studies.

Professor Adeleke belongs to many professional bodies such as Nigerian Mathematical Society, Nigeria Statistical Society, Mathematical Association of Nigeria, among others.

Professor Adeleke has published numerous articles in both local and international journals.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun has since congratulated the new Deputy Vice Chancellors.
