Women from across the 16 local Government Areas of Ekitu State and some LCDAs have declared support and readiness to vote the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, in Ekiti State, Erelu Kemi Elebute.
The women during a tour with the candidate said come June 18, nothing will deter them from votung in her favour.
They described Elebute-Halle as a charismatic woman who will change Ekiti for better if elected.
According to the women who wore white attires which symbolizes peace and victory, majority of them left APC to join ADP.
Addressing the gathering Erelu Elebute-Halle thanked the women for endorsing her and promised not to disappoint them.
She described women as important factor in any election.
She said women and youth-centred programmes would be her cardinal objectives if elected.
The ADP flag bearer dispelled any rift in her party, noting that her emergence will bring about industrial and business development in the state
Her words: “With their support for me, the whole world and the people of Ekiti State know that women support women. They sponsored themselves here in one uniform, in one accord that come June 18th 2022, they are ready to vote me to have their own in government.
“Irrespective of what happened within the party, we are waxing stronger everyday and we are prepared for the election. According to statistics in politics, it was noted that 60 to 70 percent of women in the world involve in politics. Both women and youth, we are coming out for them.
“As you can see they want to support their own and this is the time they want to back up their own to ensure we are ib government.
“We have pleaded with them that people want free and fair election. We will not fight but use our votes. People are ready to use their votes irrespective of what they want to do and they are ready to vote them out.
“My drive is passion to serve and that is why I put myself in for everybody. All our women, women emancipation, youth emancipation, women liberation in politics. Enough is enough and this is our time. I’m pleading with our men to support us too.
“We want to pay the pensioners, the only thing Ekiti rely on is salary. We want to create jobs. I am going to be the first governor to have industrial and business district in Ekiti State. I want to empower the youths, carry our women along in politics.”
