Ekiti Traditional Medicine Practitioners Inducts New Executives

…seeks Government support to halt quack practitioners

National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP), Ekiti State Chapter has inducted its newly elected Executive members to commence their regime, while calling on the Government to provide Task Force to combat quack practitioners.

The Executives are: Chairman-chief Oluwafemi Adesua; Deputy Chairman-chief Akinmodede Oluwadare; Secretary-olori Awo Adewale Adeyefa; Ass, Secretary-dr, Yisa Lamidi Olakunle; Treasurer Chief Arowosola Sunday Gabriel; Financial Secretary-chief Adebayo Ajeti; Publicity Secretary-chief Jola Samuel Ajayi; Ass, Publicity Secretary-dr, Dele Faturoti; Internal Auditor-chief Bola Ogundare; Ex, Officio 1. Chief Adebayo Sunday; Chief Adetunji Ilori.

In an interactive session with Reporters in Ado-Ekiti, the National Secretary, NANTMP, Abuja, Alhaji Adeagbo Raji, disclosed that the Federal Government is interested in traditional Medicines and has offered funds to support its development, adding that traditional medicine is in every country of the world.

Also, the new Chairman, NANTMP, Ekiti state, Chief Oluwafemi Adesua popularly known as Ageje, assured members of the Association of a people oriented government and promised to support the state healthcare within his capacity.

Similarly, the Leader, Traditional medicine Practitioners, Ekiti State Dauda Lawal Awise, called for a united Association to actualise their goal, “You know a leader is a slave, I wouldn’t mind whatever it will cost me, I will team up and go round the 16 Local Government, call them, advice them and tell them that we should team up; lets move Ekiti forward.”

He also said that the traditional medicine practice is now a transformed profession and practitioners can dress neat as well specialise in an area for good results, adding that the Association seeks government support with task Force to flush quacks.

The Chairman of the Inauguration, Chief Oluwafemi in his welcome remarks affirmed that all the executives inaugurated were tested and trusted people who will take the union to an enviable height.

He also expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) for their hospitality and support towards the Association.
Chief Oluwafemi solicited the official recognition of the Association as well as technical and Financial support of the government.
