EKITI STATE POLICE COMMAND GEARS UP NEW CONSTABLES, OTHERS AHEAD OF ELECTION

The Ekiti State Police Command, on Friday concluded a one week workshop/training and retraining exercise for the newly recruited constables and some selected officers and Men of the Command.

The workshop was aimed at equipping the participants with the Force rules of engagement, Standard Operational Guidelines for Police Officers on election security, professionalism, intelligence gathering, policing and human rights, community policing.

The programme had some resource persons including Deputy Commissioners of Police and Assistant Commissioners of Police in attendance.

In his address, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Moronkeji Adesina, represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Operations, DCP Augustine Grimah, implored the participants to ensure they are guided by the knowledge they have received while discharging their daily statutory duties including during the forthcoming general elections.

The CP further stated that the Command shall ensure adequate deployment of security personnel before, during and after the forthcoming general elections.

In his closing remarks, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Ayodeji Abimbola, congratulated the participants for the wealth of knowledge gathered from the workshop and further assured them that the workshop will, undoubtedly, make them better Officers and good Ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force.
