Ekiti SA Youth Development Seeks Partnership with CSOs, Chambers of Commerce to Boost Entrepreneurship, Others

The Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor on Youth Development, Hon. Maxwell Olu-Ajayi has called for partnership with Civil Society Organisations and Chambers of Commerce in the state to boost youth entrepreneurship.

He made the appeal on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti, when the leadership of youth organisations in the state paid separate visits to the Coalition of Ekiti Civil Society Organisations, COECSO, and the Ekiti Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture.

Speaking at the office of COECSO, Olu-Ajayi said NGO is a platform for mentorship amd impactful ventures that plays a vital role in youth empowerment.

He called for synergy and partnership with NGOs aimed at helping the youths to end unemployment while urging the NGOs to sustain its activities and programmes.

Earlier, Chairman of COECSO, Prof. Christopher Oluwadare appreciated the S.A and his team for visiting the association, saying that the visit serves as an encouragement and inspiration.

He pleaded with the S.A and state government to alleviate the sufferings of out-of-school youths at the grassroots through empowerment and provision of grants for start-ups.

In the same vein, President of the Ekiti Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Dr. Olufemi Ogumola pledged to collaborate with the Ministry of Youth Development and the S.A in capacity training, agriculture, entrepreneurship etc.

Similarly, Coordinator of NACIMA Youth Entrepreneur, NYE, Adedayo Mathew Ige said the body will engage youths in the state in their activities to end unemployment.

Olu-Ajayi called on NYE to move beyond the state level and extend their activities to youths at the grassroots level in the areas of entrepreneurship while pleading with the body to subsidize the fee for CAC registration for youths in the state.
