Contractors handling the various road projects of the Ekiti State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, RAAMP, have intensified work across rural communities in the State a development that excite residents of rural communities.
During an inspection tour on Tuesday in Ilejemeje, Moba and Ekiti West local governments and facilitated by the Office of Community Communications, some contractors had deployed its equipments to expedite completion of the road projects.
The contractor handling the Erinmope-Irare-Ikosun road, Tundis Nig Ltd assured that they will ensure timely completion of the project for the benefit of citizens and economic development of the State.
The scope of work included backlog maintenance and rehabilitation of 6.68km road for a duration of 18 months which commenced in July, 2024.
According to its Project Engineer, Henry Olatunji, “we are moving and the work is going on well. The quality has been so far okay and we wish to continue in that level. We will ensure that specifications are met.
“The job will be delivered on scheduled within the time frame of 18 months. Before a month to the time, we will hand over. Our machineries, equipments and manpower are ready to deliver.”
At the construction site for Iye-Isaba-Olopomeji-Ikun in Ilejemeje LGA, the 5.1km road has so far witnessed rehabilitation as labourers are on site.
A resident of the area, Pastor Ajayi Makunjuola emphasized that the project will facilitate economic development in both Ilejemeje and Moba LGAs.
However, during a visit to Ijero-Epe-Araromi-Iropora road, it was gathered that the contractor is yet to mobilize its equipment and manpower to the site.
Other areas visited during the tour include; Igbole/Osi-Iropora 4.6km road, Ara-Ekameta School 2.05km road and Ikogosi-Aba Osun-Aba Ori-Okuta Ikogosi road in Ekiti West LGA.
