The Project Coordinator of Ekiti State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), Hon. Sunday Adunmo has commended women’s role in governance.
Speaking during a courtesy visit on Tuesday March 25, 2025 by the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Ekiti State Chapter, Adunmo acknowledged the vital role women play in both governance and society.
“I appreciate the faith of everyone here. They have given us invaluable support, without which we would not have achieved our successes. With their backing, we can accomplish anything,” he stated.
He praised the contributions of women in government, saying, “Women play a vital role, not just in this administration but also in Nigeria as a whole. While some may consider women as secondary in leadership, I see them as equal partners. In many cases, women perform even better.”
Adunmo further commended the sacrifices women make, highlighting their dedication to family and society. “While some men may relax after a drink, women remain vigilant—praying, taking care of the home, and planning for the future. Your commitment is truly admirable.”
He also expressed gratitude to the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji for his visionary leadership and unwavering support. “Without the governor’s backing, we wouldn’t be where we are today. His initiatives have propelled us forward. In 2022, we received the final approval to join RAAMP after nearly eight years of waiting. Within two years, we surpassed those who had been ahead of us, earning two out of six ministerial awards. That is a testament to our hard work and God’s grace.”
Highlighting gender inclusivity in his department, Adunmo stated, “We are gender-sensitive. We have an entire department managed by women because we recognize their excellence and leadership capabilities. Our focus is always on achieving the best results.”
In response, the Chairperson of NAWOJ, Mrs. Adewumi Ademiju, affirmed the association’s commitment to fostering strong relationships and promoting Adunmo’s initiatives.
“We have been monitoring your activities and recognize you as one of the most vibrant political figures in Ekiti State. We are here to strengthen our collaboration and support your efforts,” she stated.
The visit underscored the mutual appreciation between the government and the media in advancing development goals in the state.
