Ekiti Police to Embark on Shooting Range Practice

…urges residents not to panic

The Ekiti State Police Command has mapped out plans to embark on a one-day shooting range practice in the State.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, enjoined residents of the State not to panic as a result of gunshot sounds during the exercise.

According to the statement, the exercise will hold on Saturday, 14th December, 2024 from 6am to 12pm at Quarry Site, opposite Police Headquarters at Old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti.

The statement reads: “The Ekiti State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that a one day shooting range exercise is scheduled to take place.

“While enjoining everyone not to panic as a result of the gunshot sounds during the exercise, members of the public, residents, farmers and passerbys of the said environment are warned to stay clear and avoid any activity within the vicinity until the exercise is over. This is to avoid being hit by stray bullets or being traumatized.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP AKINWALE KUNLE ADENIRAN, mni, while assuring the good people and residents alike of Ekiti State of maximum security for their lives and properties, implores everyone to cooperate with the Police and be law abiding.”
