Ekiti Police Command Enforces Third Party Insurance Policy

Officers of the Ekiti State Police Command on Wednesday hit the major roads of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital to enforce the third party insurance policy as directed by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

During the exercise, many motorists without the third party document were arrested and mandated to register with insurance companies who are on ground.

Addressing journalists, spokesman for the command, SP Sunday Abutu said the third party insurance was in the interest of motorists.

He appealed to motorists to ensure they register with any insurance company of their choice.

Earlier representative of one of the insurance companies on ground, Adeniran Enoch noted that the registration for the third party is fifteen thousand naira and covers for up three million naira in the case of any accident depending on the level of damage.
