Ekiti NURTW Condemns protest on Tax

…advocates dialogue

The Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Ekiti State, Ambassador Joseph Falope has appealed to residents of the State to dialogue with the Ekiti State government on the issue of tax rather than resort to protest.

The NURTW Chairman known as Oloforo, who made the plea while speaking with newsmen in Ado Ekiti explained that nothing good can be achieved with violence but through peaceful dialogue.

The Ekiti NURTW Chairman explained that Governor Biodun Oyebanji is a listening governor that would not neglect any section of the society, irrespective of their political and religion affiliations.

Ambassador Falope noted that payment of tax by residents of the state would give room for more developmental projects, urging people to cooperate with the tax collectors in the interest of harmonious relationship.

He explained that Ekiti State is known for peace, hence the need for residents of the state to continue threading path of peace.

The NURTW Chairman went further to restate the commitment of Transport Workers in performing their civic responsibility through the regular payment to support the developmental programs of Governor Oyebanji.
