EKITI NSCDC PARADES FOUR SUSPECTED CRIMINALS

…warns criminals to steer clear of Ekiti

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Ekiti State Command Ado Ekiti has paraded four suspects in connection with various crimes.

The suspects were arrested following descreet intelligence and investigation on the activities of some groups of people who are in the habit of stealing car batteries in the state capital and other big cities in the state.

The State Command has been inaundated with complaints from car owners in the state concerning sudden disappearance of car batteries in the state especially, cars that are parked along the road, faulty cars and automated vehicles .

The Counter Terrorism Unit of the State Command worked on intelligence received along Atikakan and Irona axis of the Ado Ekiti in which one Tobi Sunday 22 years,residing at Akin Akeju street was arrested while attempting to steal a car battery around 4am with other suspects at large after seeing the operatives of the Unit.

Items recovered from him included four different ATM cards believed to have been stolen from cars forcefully opened by these suspects in an attempt to steal their batteries. Tobi who is a native of Ado Ekiti confessed to have been in the business for a long time and he has operated in different areas of the state capital.

Olaiya Pelumi 20 years, a native of IlasaEkiti who resides in Ado Ekiti was also arrested along Ikere /Ado by the Counter Terrorism Unit on the issues bordered on fraud and conspiracy.

Tobi who was a fuel attendant in Aisegba Ekiti disappeared with over 2.4 million naira belonging to his employer in Aisegba Ekiti and ran away without any trace . Luck ran out of him after series of tracking and manhunt for him as he was trying to flee the state capital having noticed that CTU had located his hideout in Ikere Ekiti.

Another suspect paraded was Junior Michael 24 years from Ebonyi State. The suspect was arrested along Ereguru street in Ado Ekiti with substances suspected to be canabis sativa, ice, cocaine, Colorado and other illicit drugs .

Tobi who confessed to have been a drug dealer also suspected to have been a member of a cult group terrorising Ereguru axis of the capital along with his gangs who are currently at large.

One Ayodeji Ogundipe 37 years was also apprehended along Dallimore street in Ado Ekiti on allegation of an attempted murder of Adeosun Olamide who resides along Rose Bud Area in Ado Ekiti .Ayodeji was arrested with substance suspected to be cannabis sativa in his house while he was trying to escape arrest after sighting the operatives of the Counter Terrorism Unit.

Commenting on the arrest, Commandant John Olayemi warned parents and guardian in the state to watch the bahaviours of their children and monitor their companies as the rate at which drugs are circulating in Ado Ekiti calls for concerted efforts from parents, security agencies, proprietors of schools, principal of secondary school and members of the public.

This is necessary to have at least, a reduction in drug-propelled crimes like cultism, rape, armed robbery, stealing and other heinous crimes orchestrated by illicit drug intakes .

Fayemi who blows hot on the readiness of the State Command to move all out into the nooks and crannies of the state to fish out drug peddlers and send them to where they belong, smoke out criminals and their sponsors to face the wrath of the law and protect Ekiti people from miscreants and other criminals in the state even if it involves the usage of modern technology to detect these unrepentant criminals.

Efforts are in the top gear to arrest fleeing suspects while investigations are ongoing on the those arrested so that the law of the land can take its stands on them.
