EKITI NSCDC COMMANDANT BAGS PEACE AMBASSADOR AWARD

…tell us what we are not doing right – Commandant Fayemi

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ekiti State Command, Mr John Olatunde Fayemi has challenged Non-Governmental Organisations in the Country to continue in their efforts to support the protection of Fundamental Human Rights of the people by challenging Security Agencies on activities that are globally considered inimical to the protection of Civil and Fundamental Human Rights of the people.

Fayemi said this while receiving an Award of Service Ambassador by Advocacy for Peace and Values Re-Orientation, Abuja in his office along Ikere/Ado Road, Ekiti State as contained in a statement by the spokesman for the command Tolu Afolabi.

The Award which was premised on the efforts of the Commandant on crime fighting, protection of Fundamental Human Rights, Peace Making and Crisis Resolution drives, and support for other Security Agencies and others was presented by the Executive Director of the Organisation, Comrade Abubakar Oyibo, who led other other Regional Directors to the State Command Headquarters for the ceremony.

Comrade Abubakar explained that the choice and selection of Commandant Fayemi was based on the tested and proven records of his task oriented, humble and kind disposition, whose acumen and managerial activities have taken many people out of crimes, heal broken marriages through Alternate Dispute Resolution; creation of enabling environment for officers and men to grow on the job, and motivation to drive in needed impetus for the officers to perform in line with international best practices, in crime preventions and trouble shooting.

According to the statement, the State Commandant in his acceptance speech thanked the Organisation for recognizing Ekiti State NSCDC as one of the Award recipients. He attributed his modest achievements in Ekiti State to the support from the Federal Government in erecting a beffiting Command’s Headquarters for the Corps in the State; and also appreciated the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR for his unflinching support and astute coordination of the Corps in Nigeria.

He equally expressed gratitude to the State Government for their regular support in creating an enabling environment for the Corps to function.

Commandant Fayemi in acknowledging the premium of team spirit and cooperation of his Command management staff dedicated the award to them, as well as to all honest and hardworking Officers and Men of the Command.

He adjudged that the Award could not have come at a better time this, to ginger and motivate the Officers and Men to work more in dedicated discharge of national service in the areas of the Corps’ core mandate, without relenting on the need to assist and support other Sisters Agencies to maintain and ensure secured and peaceful polity in the State.
