Ekiti LGSC Seeks Spiritual Intervention to Tackle National Economic Hardship, Insecurity, Others

The Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) has continued its monthly prayer sessions, seeking divine interventions for the challenges confronting the nation.

The August edition of the prayers took the LGSC team to Ijero Local Government, Ijero-Ekiti where the political office holders and staff of Irewolede, Irede and Eso-Obe LCDAs converged to offer supplications to God.

The session, which included prayers for local government administration and operators, Ekiti State and the Federal Government, was led by pastors: Sunday Asubiojo, Isaac Idowu, and Simeon Ogunmola. They drew from various Bible passages, including Exodus 3:7-8, 2 Kings, John 16:3-4, and Ecclesiastes 3:1, to guide the prayers.

The Chairman, Mr. Samuel Adewumi Abejide who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Titilayo Toba-Ojo, disclosed that the prayers were facilitated as a result of God’s leading to intercede for the country to enable it surmount the challenges of insecurity, economic hardship and unemployment that are making life unbearable for the citizens.

Mrs Toba-Ojo commended the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his workers-friendly policies, highlighting that all eligible local government workers due for 2022/ 2023 promotions had received their letters of promotion adding “PHC staff letters of promotion would soon be dispatched to the various LGAs/ LCDAs in few days time”

The Permanent Secretary who urged the workers to be absolutely loyal and support the government of the day at all times warned against making unnecessary posts and comments on social media that could tarnish the government’s reputation.

Mrs. Toba-Ojo reiterated the BAO administration’s commitment to fostering growth and development at the grassroots across Ekiti State to fast-track the shared prosperity mantras of Mr. Governor.

She charged workers to be prayerful, diligent and embrace a mind shift in the discharge of their duties in order to enable them meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people at the grassroots warning them against partisanship

In his remarks, the Chairman of Ijero Local Government, Hon. Abayomi Fowosele, speaking on behalf of other Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) Chairmen, commended the Local Government Service Commission for organizing the prayer sessions at such a critical time, noting that Nigeria needs prayers to overcome its challenges.

Hon. Fowosele emphasized that prayer is the key to achieving success, peace and love among ourselves.

Speaking on behalf of the workers, the NULGE branch chairman for Ijero Local Government, Comrade Segun Adeleke, expressed his gratitude to the Governor for the prompt payment of staff salaries and allowances, approval of promotions and payment of salaries arrears.

He stressed that the increase in key management positions, including Permanent Secretaries, Executive Secretaries, and HLAs were deliberate efforts by Mr. Governor to strengthen the local government service.
