Ekiti Labour Leaders Usher in 2024 with supplication

…as NLC Chairman promises to facilitate more benefits for workers

labour leaders in Ekiti State under the auspices of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC on Thursday converged on the Labour House at Egbewa Area of Ado Ekiti to offer supplications to God and sanctify the new year.

The inter faith prayer was presided over by the Chief Imam, Government House Mosque, Alhaji Abdulfatai Olohunkemi and Pastor Abioye Bamidele of the Christ Apostolic Church, Adanimogo, Ado Ekiti

During the session, the unionists sang to appreciate God for the outgone year and seek His divine help in the new year.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman, NLC, Comrade Kolapo Olatunde appreciated members for their support in the last year and hoped for a better working relationship in the new year.

He said his leadership would push more towards getting the outstanding benefits of workers and Pensioners from government without resulting to confrontation and violence.

Olatunde urged workers to keep hope alive, saying the prayer was necessary because no one can receive except it is given by God.

In their seperate sermons, the Chief Imam, Government House Mosque and Pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church, Adanimogo, Ado Ekiti urged workers to build their faith in God and embrace unity among themselves.

Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor on Labour Matter, Mr. Kayode Fatomiluyi promised the readiness of government to improve on the welfare of workers in the new year.

Also, the Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Training, Mr Aremu Shittu urged workers to be diligent and cooperate with government to succeed.
