EKITI JUDICIARY SUSPENDS SITTING

The trial of civil actions in all High Courts across Ekiti State shall be suspended from Monday 8th of August, 2022 to mark the beginning of year 2022 Annual Vacation.

According to Ekiti State Chief Judge, Justice John Adeyeye, the notice tagged Annual Vacation is under Order 45 Rule (4) (d) of Ekiti State High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2020.

A statement from the office of the  Ekiti State Chief Judge states that criminal matters and urgent civil motions will be heard and attended to during the vacation.

The release further indicates that civil actions may be heard by leave of vacation judge base on agreement of concerned parties.

Resumption for normal court activities shall commence on Monday 19th September, 2022 while attention of the general public and all counsel is however drawn to the fact that all courts in the State will remain open and operate throughout the vacation period.
