Ekiti Joins Nationwide Strike as Labour Leaders Close Government Offices, Businesses

Labour leaders in Ekiti State on Monday shut down government offices and private businesses in compliance with the nationwide strike declared by the national body of the union.

The organized labour led by the NLC Chairman, Comrade Olatunde Kolapo and the TUC secretary, Comrade Yomi Peters visited the State Secretariat and some banks where they forced out staff who failed to obey the clarion call.

Addressing journalists, the NLC Chairman, Comrade Olatunde Kolapo and the TUC secretary Comrade Yomi Peters said no going back on the strike except government do the needful.

They noted that the strike was inevitable considering the way government was handling the negotiation process.

Similarly, the Chairman Joint Health Sector Union, Comrade Femi Ajoloko enforced the strike action at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti forcing out workers who have been coerced to work by management.
