Ekiti JNC Chairman, Ajoloko meets Gov. Oyebanji, Makes Special Case for Medical and Health Workers

The Chairman, Joint Negotiating Council, Ekiti State, Comrade Oluwafemi Ajoloko on Tuesday tabled the various challenges confronting members of the Union both at the state and local government levels before Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji.

Ajoloko who spoke when the leadership of the organized Labour Force in Ekiti State met with the governor in his office emphasized the importance of health workers to the development of any society hence the need for government to put in place all necessary measures that could enhance their welfare and encourage them to put in their best for the service of the state.

He called on the governor to ensure the full implementation of COHESS for members of the Health Workers at the local government level and payment of the new hazard allowances for his members across board in ministry of Health, ministry of environment and ministry of Agriculture on the table

Ajoloko who is also the chairman, Medical and Health Workers Union, Ekiti State Council, noted that administrative staff employed by the Hospital Management Board should be allowed to benefit from all emolument attached to the salaries of health workers such as the COHESS, and the allowances among others.

According to him, the administrative staff are also exposed to the hazards and various risks associated with the job just like the health workers.

Ajoloko told the governor, that health workers in Ekiti State are committed and are ready to put in their best to ensure that he achieved his objective of improved access to qualitative health care services by people of the state.

He commended Governor Oyebanji for all he has done for workers in the state so far and urged him not to relent.

Ajoloko promised to play his role as the mediator between the labour Force and government towards ensuring an harmonious working relationship.
