EKITI GOVERNMENT TO SANCTION PETROL STATIONS REFUSING PAYMENT THROUGH POS

…rolls out phone number for complain

Ekiti State government has directed some filling stations owners who have been refusing to accept point of sales, POS payment mode from buyers in the state to rescind their decision.

The Special Adviser to governor on Industry,Trade and Investment, Mrs. Omotayo Adeola gave the directive in a meeting with the state Petroleum task force committee and representatives of NUPENG.

She said buyers who are willing to pay through POS should be allowed to do so in view of the current inadequate naira notes in circulation.

Mrs. Adeola who empathized with residents on the hardship being faced as a result of the cash crunch, urged residents to report any erring petrol station to the Ekiti State petroleum task force through the WhatsApp number 08077772323 for prompt action.

In an interview, the Ekiti State Chairman, Petrol Task Force, Mr Ayodeji Adesokan and NUPENG Chairman, Mr Olumide Jegede appealed to Petrol marketers in the state to comply with the directive as any petrol station found wanting would be sanctioned.
