Ekiti State Government has forced out those trading on the roads side in various places within the state capital.
The areas affected are Oja Oba, Oja Bisi, Okeyinmi and Mojere markets.

Govt Dislodges Roadside Traders in Ado Ekiti
During the exercise, the government task force mandated the offenders to remove their goods and shanties to clear road for motorists and commuters.
The government team also sensitized traders at the markets visited on the need to stop dumping refuse in unauthorized places like drainages, water ways, road midians but make use of the dino bins provided by the government.
Speaking on the development, the commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources in Ekiti State, Erelu Tosin Ajisafe-Aluko said the step was very imperative to ensure that people obey environmental laws and desist from any act caple of causing epidemic in Ekiti.
Erelu Ajisafe-Aluko noted that the present administration led by Governor Biodun Oyebanji had provided Dino bins in different locations to curb indiscriminate dumping of refuse and urged those displaying goods on the road side to desist.
The commissioner said that Governor Oyebanji had approved procurement of additional dino bins to strategic places to check indiscriminate dumping of refuse, saying anybody caught dumping refuse in unauthorized places would be prosecuted accordingly.
Also, the Director General of Ekiti Waste Management Agency, Mr Sunkanmi Onipede said about thirty people have been apprehended for dumping refuse in drainages, median and other unauthorized places, saying indiscriminate dumpling of refuse could cause flooding and epidemic.
Also, the Senior special Assistant to the Governor on Environment and Waste Management, Mr Demola Obanise said that the exercise would be a continuous one until residents stop the unwholesome attitude.
On his submission, the Permanent Secretary, Mininstry of Environment and Natural Resources, Mr Tunde Alokan said making the exercise a continuous one would help to make the state clean.
