EKITI FRSC SETS TO PAY TRIBUTE TO VICTIMS OF ROAD CRASHES

The Federal Road Safety Corps Ekiti Sector Command is set to join the rest of the world to commemorate this year’s African Road Safety Day and world Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Crash Victims.

The various programmes lined up to  mark the day will commence from 13th of November 2023  to the 19th of November, 2023.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Route Commander, DRC Obinna C Egesie and made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti.

According to the statement, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Ekiti Sector Command, Corps Commander Elijah O Joseph had during a press briefing emphasized that the objectives of the event is to provide a platform to remember all people killed or seriously injured in Road Traffic Crashes.

It is also to acknowledge the crucial work of emergency operatives, advocate for better support for road traffic victims and their families, Promote evidence based actions to prevent and eventually stop further road traffic deaths and injuries.

The Sector Commander noted that this year’s theme
which is “Justice: Remember, support and act” seeks to reflect the position of the Corps in its effort to reduce incidences of road traffic crash fatalities and injuries.

Activities to mark the week-long event in the state are, Jumaat prayers, Hospital visitations, Enlightenment lectures and Sunday church thanksgiving service.1
