The coordinator of Grazing Management Programme, Ekiti State, Adeniyi Adedipe popularly known as Apase, has established a feast centre tagged “OJUDE BAORESS FOR BAO” to feed Ekiti residents with free pounded yam every Saturday for another six years.
Speaking with journalists at its commissioning on Sunday, Apase who is a younger brother said the initiative, which will run until 2030, is meant to support governor Biodun Oyebanji for second term and to interact with the people of the state who don’t have the opportunity to access the state’s helsman.
His words, “This initiative is borne out so that we can see where we will be meeting in Ekiti for the second term of BAO. It’s for those people who don’t have the opportunity to see the governor, for the less privilege people to come here every Sunday to eat free Pounded Yam.
“It’s also an avenue to relate their challenges to us so that we can see how we can help them. This is also for me and other political appointees to interact on how to make life better for the good people of Ekiti State.
“It’s located at a centre where everybody can access and that’s why it’s called OJUDE BAORESS FOR BAO because we want to market BAO to the world.
“Nobody will pay every Sunday, it’s free for everyone. And for those appointees who love BAO, they can also support in this initiative as it will run until 2030”.
While commissioning the Feast Centre, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaja Abibat Adubiaro hailed Apase for coming up with such initiative, which according to her is a testament of his invaluable support to the current political dispensation in the state.
She urged other political appointees to emulate his action, by coming up with initiatives to support people in their respective immediate communities.
