Ekiti CP Vows to Prioritize Corps Members’ Safety

In a significant move aimed at bolstering the security of Corps Members serving in Ekiti State, CP. AK Akinwale, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, has guaranteed maximum security for corps members in Ekiti State.

The New Commissioner of Police who warmly received a delegation from the NYSC, led by the NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, Alh. Riko Abdullahi Shuaibu, at the Police Headquarters in Ado Ekiti reiterated that he has directed all DPOs to ensure maximum patrols of Corps Lodges in the State.

The Commissioner of Police, who referred to the Corps members as ‘Govt Pikin,’ emphasized the paramount importance of ensuring their safety and well-being in the State. He emphasized that the Nigeria Police Force is fully committed to providing a secure environment for Corps Members to carry out their national service without fear or hindrance.

“Our priority is the safety of Corps Members in Ekiti State,” affirmed the Commissioner of Police.

The NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, Alhaji Riko Abdullahi Shuaibu, while praising the police force’s proactive measures in safeguarding Corps Members and their lodges across the state, emphasized the need for continuous synergy between the two agencies.

Alhaji Riko equally used the opportunity to commend the State Police as one of the best in Nigeria, assuring them of continuous support from the NYSC in terms of government policy implementation.

Drawing from his past experience as a member of the NYSC Governing Board in Abia State, Commissioner Akinwale underscored his personal understanding of the challenges faced by Corps Members and the imperative of robust security arrangements to mitigate risks effectively.

“I assure all Corps Members that the relationship between the NYSC and the police will remain strong,” stated Commissioner Akinwale, emphasizing the enduring partnership between the two institutions in maintaining peace and security in Ekiti State. He encouraged Corps Members to feel confident in the police force’s unwavering commitment to their safety and urged them to report any security concerns promptly.

Commissioner Akinwale’s assurance of enhanced safety measures for Corps Members in Ekiti State reflects the proactive nature of the NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator in ensuring a safe haven for corps members serving in the state.
