The new Chairman of Ikole local government area of Ekiti State, Mr Bayo Omojola has officially assumed duties amidst warm reception.
Mr Omojola was received at the local government Secretariat by the workforce who cheered him up with jubilation, singing various songs.
Speaking at a prayer session organised to welcome him, the Chairman, Ikole local government, Mr Bayo Omojola said the welfare of the staff and development of the people would top his priorities.
“We will replicate the achievements of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in Ikole local government so that our council will record the desired growth”.
“There will be infrastructural development, there will be intervention in education, health, youth development and many other areas”.
He told the gathering that he would be having quarterly meeting with staff of the local government which would give them opportunity to exchange ideas.
Mr Omojola sought the support and cooperation of the workforce in order to succeed in office.
While speaking, the Head of Local Government Administration in Ikole, Otunba Omole Ayodeji urged members of staff to be dedicated to their duties.
On his part, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE in Ikole council, Mr Sola Famoroti said all the demands of the union would later be presented to the Chairman, while promising their loyalty to him.
Mr Famoroti advised the Council Boss not to listen to hearsays, rather he should be open to all staff of the local government.
In a short sermon, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Ikole local government chapter, Pastor Cornelius Erinle charged the new Chairman to allow God to direct him in his decision making process.
Prayers were offered by men of God for the Chairman to succeed in his new assignment.
Present at the forum were families, friends, political associates of the Chairman, Chiefs and the Oloojebu of Ijebu Agege, Oba Ezekiel Awe.
