Ekiti State Government through the Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship and the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council have taken the Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine to public schools in the state.
The two organizations also educated the students on their Civic rights and the need to uphold the core values of Ekiti which are, hard work, honesty, integrity and education.
During the programme at Baptist High School, Ado Ekiti the Director General, Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship, Mrs Olawumi Famuyiwa confirmed that the vaccine is safe and effective.
Also, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Ekiti State, Kayode Babatuyi said journalists would continue to educate members of the public on the importance of the vaccine.
In an interview , the principal of the Baptist High School, Ado Ekiti, Mr. Afolabi Ologunleko dispelled various misconceptions about the vaccines and appreciated the Bureau and NUJ for promoting morals among students.
The team had visited, CAC Comprehensive High School, Ilawe Road, Ado Ekiti yesterday.
