…slams Political leaders hoarding consumables
In celebration of Easter period, an ex-officio of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Bukola Olanrewaju Fajuyi on Friday distributed food items to no fewer than 100 widows and aged in the state.
The food items include Rice, Garri, tubers of Yam, Noodles, among others.
Speaking with journalists in Ado-Ekiti, the ex-officio, who is also the founder of Bukola Olanrewaju Fajuyi Foodbank (BOFF) said the gesture was to reach out to the vulnerable and the needy in celebration of the festive season.
She however slammed political leaders hoarding food items from the vulnerable, adding that giving will not only bring blessings but make them acceptable before the creator.
She said, “I’m doing this only to encourage the widows, the less privileged people in our society because the Bible says he who gives water gives life.
“We have heard about someone who hid bags of rice in his house and those bags got spoilt without any use.
“As we are in the festive period of Easter, we need to show love to all the women and to put smiles on their faces and food on their table”
Responding to whether the gesture had political intentions, “I don’t have any political ambition at all now and even in the future but I’m only having pity on the widows because they have nobody to care for them except God.”
She urged the good people of Ekiti state to inculcate the act of giving, saying “Let’s give and submit everything to God and we shall see that many things will change for good”
